About Daniel
Daniel is a sports journalist majoring in the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. He is a sports writer for the Cronkite News and is an intern with Sports360AZ. He also writes for the ASU State Press the Walter Cronkite Sports Network and has participated as a production associate for ESPN+ in the past year.
Rios has gained much sports writing experience with the many distinct roles he's participated in. These experiences have let him cover events like the 2025 NFL scouting combine, the Big 12 football championship, and the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. From covering football for the State Press or Men's basketball or Tennis for WCSN, he's learned how to write creatively and understands what it means to work as a professional in a professional environment. Along with writing, another passion is Live Sports Production. Daniel has worked with, most recently, the Varsity Sports show and ESPN+ broadcasts to help share incredible moments on the field live. Whether board operating or simply running cables, he enjoys working in live sports. He expects to graduate from Arizona State University in May 2025 with a B.A. in Sports Journalism.
